I'm using Rubycon ZLR 35v1200uF at the CA7 positions with no boominess at all.
Percy Audio says that good sounding diodes should be soft recovery as well as hyperfast and I certainly agree.
The PDF for the MBR1035's in the MM BOM say nothing about soft recovery and I noticed an improvement when I replaced them with Percy's Fairchild Stealth.
This tip from the Mapleshade Audio guy Pierre: Cut the lousy dielectric plastic off the outside of your electrolytics for a better sound.
Really works. I noticed more detail in the treble, cymbals mostly.
I bypassed the + and - contacts of the AC terminal block with 33pF, 100pF, .001uF, and .01uF (all 100v) film caps to shunt noise.
I really wish I had taken the extra effort to build the MOSFET version and use all my best caps,i.e., BG's in the first place !
The upgrade was well worth it.
