 Post subject: setup of grubdac

Hi there,
I am a newbee on smd soldering,
just finished the grubdac but unable
to get it to work, need help! :cry:

Can you give us some more detail?

Does the LED light?
Can you measure 3.3V at the test point with ground?
Have you checked the IC chips for bridges between pins?
Is there any solder on top of the oscillator chip?

Hi there,
1. led does light up
2. can only give 1.2V
3. seem ok without bridges
4. do not understand your meaning?

This is not good. It implies that you have something wrong with the regulator chip (U2).

A very close-up pic would help to make sure.

If you get solder on the metal top of the oscillator chip (X1), it's possible to create a short. The solder should cover the exposed metal at the four places on the sides of the chip, but cannot extend over to any portion of the metal top.
